The site was an office unit in the marina that had sat unrented for years. A deal was negotiated with the landlord and, including the landlord contribution, in excess of £700,000 was invested into building the business.
At the point of sale it was the city's most successful restaurant brand, with the highest turnover of any independent restaurant of comparable size in the area. Winner of Best Restaurant at the British Restaurant Awards three years running, and awarded the Holy Grail of the Hampshire Roast by the Hampshire Chronicle. Social media reach ran at over 250,000 a month.
